You are alone in a dark lab with a photon emitter and a screen that shows nothing. Generate light. Release it. See what the screen was hiding.

Lumenator is a photon idle game with a secret at both ends.

The Six Days is the long climb. Click to coax the first photons out of the dark, then build the machines that make clicking quaint: the Photon Pump, a Dyson feed hauling freight in from off screen, and the Hawking Siphon, which drinks from somewhere worse. Seven screens wait to be revealed, each an order of magnitude hungrier than the last. The goal is a number with 22 digits. People who reach it report that something tears.

Today's Challenge is a daily rebus, ranked by speed. Reveal the images, read them as a puzzle, and name the famous saying. You get one ranked attempt per day, and guessing blind has a price: every wrong guess with unlit screens adds five minutes to your clock. Past days live in a browsable archive.

Everything here is procedural. The images are drawn in code, the sounds are synthesized fresh every time they play, and the music loops without a seam. No assets were harmed.

Play free in the browser. The full experience, with an installable app, cross device scores, and the global daily leaderboard, lives at https://lumenator.gaminglife.org. The itch build is the same game with local identity only, so daily runs here are unranked.
